Welcome to Artist Development and Production 101.
My name is Alex Houton, and I’m music producer, songwriter, musician, manager, and entrepreneur.
After I wrote my hugely successful free eBook, “Artist Development and Production: The Hard Truth and How To Cope” available at my free blog, Artist Development and Production.com, I got a lot of feedback from aspiring artists that wanted more detailed information about how to pursue their career as a recording artist. I created this course to help you go deeper into creating the foundation for your career.
I’ve been writing, recording, and producing with major label artists and emerging artists for over 30 years, and I’ve worked with artists from showing them the basics of writing a song with a few guitar chords, all the way up to major label, million dollar deals. But even to this day, one thing I’ve noticed about pursuing a career as a recording artist is that there’s still not a lot of reliable, relevant, and actionable information for emerging artists to connect with, that they can start building the foundation of their career on solid ground.
There’s plenty of information about an artist’s path after they’re a big star, but not a whole lot out there about starting out, and getting up to that first peak of success.
That’s why I created Artist Development and Production 101- so that you can have access to the information that I never had access to early on as an aspiring artist.
When I started out in bands and as a singer songwriter, I had to learn through years of trial and error and the school of hard knocks. It was an expensive and time consuming education. But I want to share all of that experience with you now, so you don’t have to waste time and effort on the things that aren’t important. Nobody gets there without help. And now there’s a place for you to get that help.
In this video course you'll learn about the essentials of starting off your career as a recording artist through a series of podcast-like lectures about topics like what to listen for and focus on with your vocals, how to start writing songs, production, recording, and developing your sound and persona so that they’re authentic to who you want to be. Along with and lots of other important stuff that will help you start turning the dream of becoming a recording artist, into a reality. You’ll also get some of my personal “Pro Tips” with all of these topics, and some "Bonus Offline Exercises" to help you keep improving every day.
There are a couple of ways to get started with Artist Development and Production 101 courses. You can sign up for the basic package for a flat fee, or you can sign up with monthly structured payments which can make it easier to get started.
You can find out more about me below, and learn more about the course as well. I hope you’ll get started today and I look forward to making your connection and hearing your music!
